Cows -
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a single cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington? And they track her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

The Constitution -
They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.

The Ten Commandments -
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You
cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery", and "Thou Shalt Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians. It creates a hostile work environment

That's all. I don't like to ponder too long. It makes me nervous.

As the Shepherd Changes

Whispers in the Loggia has the latest rumor about who our next bishop will be. I had mentioned earlier the rumor around town was we were to get a new bishop from the Chicago Diocese but it now looks like we will get another mid-westerner although this one has spent some time in the west.

As always this is just a rumor and you may take it with a grain of salt or you can add a wedge of lime and a shot. Your choice.

Hens & Hornets & Dastards Oh My!

As reported on mtpolitics.net the Montana Grizzlies are seeded #3 in the Division I-AA playoffs but looking at the match ups I think the most interesting contest will be the University of Delaware Blue Hens versus the Delaware State University Hornets.

The reason?

The two Delaware schools are in the same division (I-AA) and have played each other in every sport except football. Delaware State is a traditionally black school and Delaware is a school of the lighter persuasion. There is no firm consensus as to why the schools haven’t met on the gridiron yet but it didn’t enter the national consciousness until a Blue Hen alum wrote a column for ESPN.com Page 2 which carried this money quote:

The University of Delaware's persistent refusal to face Delaware State University in football is cowardly, pig-headed, self-righteous and, worst of all, oozing with racism.

Whether or not the powers that be at UD are racist isn’t for me to say but their refusal to schedule a game between two schools separated by 45 miles is truly puzzling. The two Delaware schools have the odd distinction of being two schools in the same state having never met on the field of play.

It will be interesting to listen to the sound bites coming out of the two schools this week.

Central Rams State A Football Champions

Congrats to my Alma Mater on winning the State A championship. Congrats also to the Dillon kids for a great three year run but Central was just a juggernaut this year. When I was a student I don't think we had a winning season the entire time I was there so it's nice to see this group of kids winning it all.

I also see the Griz beat the Cats this year and I'm sure the Montana blogosphere's most famous Griz fan is happy tonight. Now let's see where the Griz are seeded in the playoffs and they stay healthy for the next month and prevail in the championship game December 14th.


Congrats again to my Rams and good luck to the Griz!

What Am I Doing Here?

I have transfered control of the domain name sfolife.net from Verio.com to godaddy.com and when the transfer was complete I was no longer able to access my sfolife.net site.

I get a blank page but I cannot get my blog to come up. I transferred two other domain names and they are working just fine but my blog is in stealth mode. I thought maybe the index.php file had become corrupted and since there is an update available for WordPress I thought I might as well load the update. I did and I still can't access the blog. I can get into my control panel for the site but the blog is eluding me.

Does anyone have any idea what hail is going on?

A Query

Let me be the last person in the world to tell you how to discipline your little snot locker BUT do you have to do it by chasing him around inside the van like a fleshy version of Ms. PacMan?

The next time you feel the need to whomp on your curtain climber could you at least pull out of the line and let the rest of the folks in line get what they have ordered?
